Hammocks have been growing more and more popular among campers over the last few years because of their comfort, low weight, and fast, easy setup. They’re also well-loved by backcountry campers since hammocks only require to points to hang them from, rather than a flat area like a tent does.
Most hammocks are single hammocks, designed for just one person to use at a time. However, there are also double hammocks that are extra wide to accommodate two people — or just one person who likes to have plenty of room.
In this guide, we’ll be telling you about our picks for the best double hammocks for two people. All hammocks in this review include features that are ideal for couples camping.
Without further ado, let’s get started!
Best 2-Person Hammock Tents
- ENO – Eagles Nest Outfitters DoubleNest Hammock
- Fox Outfitters Neolite XL Double Camping Hammock
- Kammok Roo Double Camping Hammock
- Vivere Double Natural Cotton Rope Hammock
1. Eagles Nest Outfitters DoubleNest Hammock
With a weight capacity of 400lbs, yet only weighing 19oz, the ENO DoubleNest Hammock is our overall favorite two-person hammock. The DoubleNest’s small size and low weight makes it a great backpacking hammock.
It has a built-in compression sack for convenient storage, which can be used as a pocket for small items like your phone or flashlight while the hammock is hung up. This lightweight hammock can be set up and taken down in less than five minutes and packs down to 4″ x 5.5″, about the size of a grapefruit.
It doesn’t come with hammock tree straps, but the carabiner clip ends allow it to be used with a variety of suspension systems. For backpackers, we suggest going with the ENO Helios Ultralight Suspension System, which weighs just 4.3 ounces.
Crafted from 70D nylon taffeta, which is a heavy-duty parachute nylon material, this is one of the most durable 2-person hammocks. The hammock measures 9′ x 6′ 6″ when fully spread out, so there’s easily enough room to fit 2 people.
2. Fox Outfitters Neolite XL Double Camping Hammock

The Fox Outfitters Neolite XL Double Camping Hammock is our favorite budget-friendly double hammock.
Unlike the other hammocks on this list, the Fox Outfitters Neolite XL comes with hanging straps. Although crafted from the rope, the straps have protective nylon sleeves that prevent damage to both the hammock and the trees.
The Neolite XL hammock set costs less than half of the ENO DoubleNest Hammock alone, without even factoring in the additional cost of straps for the DoubleNest. And just like the ENO, the Fox Outfitters Neolite XL weighs 19 ounces and has a 400-pound weight capacity. It also has an integrated carrying bag.
The Neolite XL is made from strong but breathable quick dry woven nylon with triple interlocking stitching. Unpacked, it measures 10′ 6″ long and 6′ 6″ wide. Presumably because of the extra length, the Fox Outfitters Neolite XL doesn’t pack down as small as the ENO DoubleNest, with packed dimensions of 7″ x 5″.
3. Kammok Roo Double Camping Hammock
Next is the Kammok Roo Double Camping Hammock.
With a width of just 5’7″, this hammock doesn’t provide as much room as the other tents on this list, so we think it’s best for lounging in during the day or for a single person who wants some extra space, rather than two people overnight.
And because this hammock is also longer than the others, measuring 10′, it only weighs an ounce less than the ENO so it’s probably not great for most backpackers either.
In fact, Kammock actually lists the sleeping capacity as one person, while the lounge capacity is one to two people. On the other hand, it has a whopping 500-pound weight capacity, so for a couple of bigger people looking to hang out for a little while, the Kammock is a great choice.
Like the other hammocks we’ve talked about so far, this one is easy to set up and take down, and has a built-in stuff sack. It packs down to about the same size as the Fox Outfitters Neolite XL.
Made of weather-resistant ripstop nylon, this high-quality portable hammock offers excellent durability but is also breathable. The hammock also comes with a lifetime warranty, so you can tell that Kammok is confident in its quality.
A handy feature that sets this hammock apart from the others that we’ve talked about is the gear loops found on each side. These loops allow for gear to be easily hung off the ground and away from the dirt, or even for you to attach string lights.
4. Vivere Double Natural Cotton Rope Hammock

The hammocks that we’ve discussed so far are all Brazilian-style hammocks, which means that they’re gathered at the ends. The Vivere Double Natural Cotton Rope Hammock is different.
It has spreader bars at each end of the hammock so the fabric lies flat. This means that, unlike Brazilian hammocks, gravity doesn’t push anyone in the hammock towards the center, so two people can lay in this hammock without ending upright on top of one another.
Nice, right? But there’s a cost, too. The more widely distributed weight makes it much easier for this hammock to tip, especially as people get on and off. For that reason, we recommend using this hammock only for daytime lounging. Unless you want to wake up in the middle of the night because you’ve hit the ground, that is.
It is incredibly comfortable for lounging though, with 100 percent cotton rope that’s very breathable, so it’s great for hot days. It measures 5′ wide and 7′ long, so it provides ample space for two people. It’s also strong and durable, capable of holding weights up to 450 pounds.
Like the other hammock manufacturers we’ve mentioned Vivere makes suspension straps. However, even if you don’t have trees or poles to hang it from in your yard, you can still use the Vivere 15ft 3-Beam Steel Stand.
Final Thoughts on the Best Two-Person Hammock
Whether you’re looking for a hammock for your next camping trip or just for lounging in for a few hours, one of the above hammocks is sure to be a great fit for you.
You can use these hammocks alone or with a sleeping pad, sleeping bag, or both for extra comfort and insulation. And don’t forget that there are lots of other accessories to go with hammocks, like hammock stands, under quilts, rain flies, bug nets, lights, and more for a comfortable, customized hammock setup.
