Great at combating rain, the Stormbreak is our best 3-season tent for two people. The tent can be summed up by one sentence – comfort for two people.

Aptly named, the Stormbreak 2 is our best 3-season tent for rain. Need some more helpful tips for camping in the rain? Check out our guide here.

With a dual-cross pole structure, this tent creates a spacious living area for two people. It has a length of 87” and a width of 53”, although its 43” peak is the standout dimension. However, the tent doesn’t have a triangular peak like other tents; the height is maintained all the way round, which allows for plenty of headroom.

The tent has a bath-tub style floor that prevents rain from leaking inside. As well as its rain-combating features, the tent has a high-low ventilation system that promotes excellent airflow.

The double tent doors are helpful for bigger people to get and in out of the tent with ease. Two large vestibules allow each person to have their own storage space. The inner pockets allow users to store bedside essentials, like a torch or phone.

At 5lb 14 oz it’s not the lightest, but it is still light enough to backpack with. We would prefer if the tent had mesh instead of the white ceiling panel, but no tent can be perfect.

The Big Agnes is our best 3-season backpacking tent.

If you want a lightweight 3-season tent for camping, the Copper Spur 2 is the one for you. As you can guess, this is one of the most popular backpacking tents. It is available in four sizes (1-4 people), meaning you can find the exact one for your requirements. The different sizes weigh from 2lbs 5oz to 5lbs 1 oz, meaning you have a lightweight option even if there are four of you. The trail weight of the 2-person tent is just 2lb 12oz.

Designed for 3-season use, the tent uses a proprietary double rip-stop nylon fabric that protects you from the elements. The tent has a 4-way hub design that covers 88″L x 52″W of ground, with plenty of headroom too.

Unlike other tents, this tent has vestibules that are very handy. Oh, and the vestibules have storm flaps to increase weather protection. For your little essentials, the tent has a number of media pockets and a ceiling pocket. As someone who frequently trips over guy-lines in the middle of the night, the reflective guy-lines are a lifesaver!

Massively popular, the Sundome is our best 3-season tent for small groups.

Coleman is a brand that most outdoor adventurers have heard of. It’s one of the biggest brands on the market and produces the best-selling tents. One such tent is the Sundome 4-person tent. It has an official capacity of four people, but if you have a lot of luggage then we would recommend this for two or three adults.

In regards to set-up time, the Sundome features a patented pin-and-ring system that makes for a quick set-up time. It took us roughly ten minutes the first time we erected the Sundome.

The tent is crafted from durable polyester that will serve you well during the three seasons of the year. The tent also has Coleman’s WeatherTec system that incorporates tub flooring and welded seams. Although waterproof, we wouldn’t recommend this tent in extreme weather or snow.

Although there are no vestibules, there are inner built-in storage pockets that can be used for essentials. The E-port cable allows you to use your favorite electrical devices, which is a feature the kids will love.

4. NTK Philly GT 8-Person Tent

Ideal for 4-6 people, the NTK Philly is our best 3-season family tent.

The NTK Philly GT is an 8-person tent for three seasons. It uses fiberglass poles to create a dome structure that is semi-freestanding.

Like a large living room, this is a single-room tent with one main door, although the fly provides a small porch that gives storage space. The tent gets even more volume thanks to a tall structure of 2m. Here is our list of tall tents.

Now, this tent measures 120ft² with an official capacity of 8 people, but we would recommend this tent for 4-6 people. It’s a good 3-season tent for families.

The 3-season tent works great in spring, autumn, and summer. Ceiling mesh provides ventilation in humid weather, while the impressive 2500mm waterproof rating protects you when it starts to rain. We also love the bathtub-style construction that prevents leaks.

Other features included a lantern loop on the ceiling, an E-cable port for media use, and a utility pocket for your camping essentials.
